Greetings,

I was talking to a fair sized dealership owner this weekend. I'm not in the market for a Yanmar at this point . . But you never know. But here is something to pay attention to:

Think "Bee colors".

1. We all know the SC2400 was discontinued after 2013

2. I don't know the status on the 2900's for certain but I can guess.

3. The dealer told me he had just sold his last . . Very last 3200 that day. He'd been told by the factory that they were now completely out of 3200's and they are not building anymore. And because they are popular . . most dealers have no desire to transfer to another dealer.

What does this mean? I'd guess if you are planning on getting a 3200 (and likely also a 2900 series) prodct new . . best do it soon.

From Yanmar it will now be all red units and its hard to say if a 2900like or 3200like will be in red . . . other than the now 221/324/424 etc. products.

I've often thought the Yellow/Black Yanmars are the best deal going for a EPA Tier III CUT. Get 'em while you can!

Since 2006 I was impressed by Yanmar's sc2400 and how well it compared to the kubotas and how it outshined many others at that time. Personally, everything I've heard about the "Bee" product line has been very good from at lead a dozen dealers Ive spoken with in the last 2 years.

MTD might not have been the right choice for the selling side of the partnership . . . . but the hardware side (Yanmar) was very good and visionary at the time. I think John Deere will really miss their association with Yanmar . . I believe Deere's best part of their product line had been the partner produced reliability products of Yanmar.

And seeing the new Red Yanmars . . . they are nice packaging and visual designed.

But they don't yet seem to have the whole plan designed and worked out like they did in the "bee" product lineup.

I think some will be disappointed when they find out their choices will be reduced as "bee" inventory disappears quickly this spring in the 3200 and maybe the 2900 as well. Remember . . I was told dealers were informed no more production is happening on the 3200 's . . . so there's no waiting anymore.

Thanks for the heads-up! Have been thinking hard about a new 3200...sounds like it may be time to stop thinking!
