Amen! Thank you to all who serve or have served. I've always felt kind of special to have shared my birthday with that of the USMC. Even though I never served I have the utmost admiration and respect for those who do. If I don't find a way to serve in the reserves before it's too late (I just turned 31) I believe that it will be a huge personal disappointment. God bless all veterans.

Many years ago, while I still 'worked' for a living, a coworker from another department and I were doing a job discussion, when he interrupted and asked if I was a veteran. When I replied "yes, I am", he immediately leaned forward, shook my hand, looked me square in the eye and said "Thank you". That was the first time anybody said that to me. Took my breath away and never forgot that gesture.

My wife's dad passed on to his long home last week. He was a World War 2 veteran, he was an honorable and well respected man in the neighborhood. He had a military funeral and from the Chaplin To the soldier that presented the flag all was done with Great Honor and Care. Although this Veterans day had sorrow for our family, it also brought us great gratitude to all those that have honorable served our country, both in conflict and in peace as well. THANKS!
