If you ever had any doubts about the efficacy of elastic pull ropes like the "yank-em" just watch this video.

These ropes store energy and snaps out some seriously stuck vehicles

they also can do serious damage to people/vehicles if used improperly since they store so much energy, but they are useful I own one.

Thanks. That was great.

I loved it when the gal kept the truck in park the first attempt! The guy didn’t get upset.

They make them up to about 3" for BIG tractors, combines etc. The old "snatch straps" that are a woven material very similar to the bigger yellow ratchet straps work just like the video rope. They do fatigue and are good for only so many yanks.
First time that you use one, you'll be amazed.

Matt seems to be pretty even tempered. I have watched most of his videos. They get into some real sketchy recovery's sometimes. Like this one below:

Posted as I was at about 9 minutes... Given the circumstances she's pretty laid back as well. There really isn't much keeping that from rolling down the hill.

She did pretty well, helping to drive them out. I've done a few unsticks and the person in the vehicle was less than helpful.

I was thinking about getting one. Got the tractor stuck atop a snow mound recently. Using a chain and the curl of the backhoe got it out, but it took ten back and forth operations (alone) an inch at a time. Stored energy strap would have been nice.

Love all that plastic junk hanging off the front of the Dodge! lol

You wouldn't have caught me in that Excursion tipped at 45 degrees. Wow!
