Tractor
Massey scut 2015 GC1715
If you own a tractor . . you are probably brand loyal in your viewpoints and opinions . . . some owners more than others. But lets look at it a different way for those who don't yet own a tractor.

Rather than saying why you like the brand and model you bought . . tell us what would be your second choice of brand (new unit) be . . . also include your tractor size. Note: I'm not talking about changing category sizes.

For me I got a scut . . Specifically a Massey GC1715.

If I had to choose a different brand because Massey was no longer available . . . I'd choose a kubota bx series product or if I could still get a new Yanmar sc2400 series.

Why? They had features I consider important and several brands I looked at did not impress me by features and price.

If you have an LS dealer nearby, consider one of the LS line factory outfitted with the same options as a Kubota Grand L, plus hydraulic remotes as standard. I shopped LS at the Subelt Ag Expo and was impressed.

LS tractors start in cold weather.

If I had to get something other than a massey I would get a same size John Deere. Next would come Kubota, Then I would have to scratch my head. It would not be a Manhindra or a Kioti. Might be a yanmar. Ed

I like my LS XR3037HC which was an upgrade in size, HP, and comfort from an open cab Mahindra 2615HST. I liked the Mahindra too. Also liked the previous Case, Ford, Deere, Kubota, and others I've owned.
For me to choose a new tractor should something happen to my current one it would probably be one of the brands mentioned (or New Holland but I've never owned one) in the 35-45 HP range, HST, and Cab. Price and which comes with the most standard options included would be a determining factor. I don't expect the tractor to spend any time at the dealer except for a warranty issue but a friendly and knowledgeable dealer is a plus.

I would be hard pressed to give up my Grand L. Although I would pick a Kioti over a standard L. If I had to pick a different machine it was be a JD 110. John Deere wouldn't be my first or second choice for brands, but I really like the 110. If I could have the same brand, but different machine it would likely be a Kubota TLB, likely a L45.

I would choose a Kubota L-39 or 48. I would love to have a TLB.

LS, Massey, Kioti so far. Branson and TYM are ones I'd like to learn more about.

(The less chrome & poly-carbonate body parts/trim the better. :D)

I have a Kubota if that wasn't an option I would go Mahindra after that I'm looking for a used Ford or JD

I would look at Kioti. No dealers near me, but I hear nothing but great things. Others would be Kubota, Massey, or Branson. My local JD dealer doesn't have a good wrap, and I personally haven't had a good experience with their parts guy. Thus JD is first in line on the chopping block. Plus they're too expensive to begin with.

I we are talking brand new .... For articulated tractors after Versatile would be Case IH , 200hp size after NH would be MF , row crop 100-150hp would be tough MF,NH,Valtra . Below 100hp yard tractors MF,Kubota,NH .
