Having the tach work is not essential and frankly once I ensure it's rpms are correct I probably will never look at it again. I don't care about the hour meter not working because I bought it with no idea what hours are already on it so knowing how many I've added is pointless. I do my maintenance based on the calendar vs hours so that's not important either. It's not worth buying a new one for $130. I see a place that sells used ones for $50--worth considering. Any aftermarket ones that would work? Are they rebuild-able? As noted the hour meter doesn't work. The tach needle just spins constantly.
