Looking for ideas for a rock picker to use behind a Kioti CK20, needs to scoop rocks (lots of them baseball size) and dump them a distance away, possibly like a bucket made of flatbar on its side say 2 inches apart

The dump part is the hard part, in my opinion. Easy to build a rake with bar on edge to scoop up the rocks. I'd experiment or look at ready built stuff to set the bar spacing. Too wide and you miss rocks; Too close and you haul a lot of dirt............

I agree. My landscape rake seems more like a shovel most of the time. I push more dirt than pick up debris. I have been considering the same type of project. This is what I came up with so far.... Building a rake with more of a scoop shape (like the FEL) but the tines are 90 degrees from the rakes out there. Basically, the wide part of the tines are parellel to the direction of travel. I would use my hydraulic top link to set it and scoop. The top link connection location would have to be specific for my top link.

the bucket scoop got me thinking, if I had another bucket, cut out the bottom and use the steel decking, it would act like a sive, have to look for a 4 foot bucket selling for scrap

I almost bought a rock bucket. If I didn't need two different interface changes at about 1.5k I probably would have done it. Here's the one I looked at.

I bought a Bradco Bradco rock bucket at an auction for $1K. It included the mounting brackets. The brackets had to be modified to fit my tractor, $25 but it was a bargain. They retail for between $1300 to $1500, don't know if that includes the mounting brackets. Look around, you'll find what you need.

What you need to do if you have a lot of rock or the area provides for the extra room needed, you need to be looking for an old single row chain type pto driven potato digger. Add a dump basket to the rear and instant rock picker. The the chain cross bars may need some reinforcement on them if you have a lot of heavy rocks. Preplowing with a moldboard plow wouldn't hurt when using this machine.
