1938 Massey Harris 101 Or which one
2017 Kubota L3301 ag tires with Beet juice AKA rim guard. Have a hole in the right rear tire and wondered does the tractor have a tube in the rear tires. Or do I need to take the tire some place to get thr beet juice removed and patch the tube and refill?

I keep getting mixed answere here and there from tire people.
Tube less or not?

You may be able to tell by the type of valve stem. If it's locked into it's hole by shape or with threads expect the tire to be tubeless.

With no pressure in the tire a tube's valve stem can be moved around or pushed slightly into its hole. Ballast might ooze from there too.

The best answer may come from someone who's examining the tire. Pics are the next best thing to that.

With tube or without, the beet juice has to come out.

95% of the time, loaded tires have tubes in them.

The best way to tell, is to see if there is a locking ring on the valve stem. That is indicative of a tube.

I punctured a rear tire on an L3400 I had and just rotated the tire to where the hole was on top and plugged it. Sticky situation with the beet juice spraying out of it. Still held another 200 hours until I sold the tractor. It didn’t even occur to me if it was tubeless or not. Must have been tubeless.

Is why I asked the question to see if any one really knew.
If they were tube less tires I would roll the leaking hole (yes I found it.) to the top and use a tubeless tire repair cord to seal it up.

Way it is leaking I figure a thorn apple tree thorn is the cause.

A plastic lock ring (nut) indicates a tube. A metal nut usually indicates a heavy duty tubeless stem unless the tube is 20+ years old which obviously is not the case here. 99% chance a 2017 Kubota has tubeless tires.

If you can take a picture of the valve stem and post it we can identify it. For the most part a tubeless tire valve stem will have some rubber on the inner part of the wheel to seal it where as a tube will just have a nut and washer. If it doesn't have any nuts then if tubeless the base will be fat so it can seal.
