That does look pretty slick to this old guy. Are they shipping yet? Last I knew that was the big thing for the BX............. they actually exist. :D

After you remove and put the deck on a few times, it gets much easier. It now takes less than 5 minutes for me to get it on my fathers BX

This has been around a while in JD. Someones probably got some insight.

Curious about the down sides to the system.
Servicing weight, mis-mount damage?

Stll got to take the blades off once in a while to sharpen them.
Push button release would be sweet for blade service (when their not running)

Either are still a world ahead of the 60's wheel horse method which I did again last week because it can still go places these will not and the backhoe is more useful right now.

I won't be trading in my wife's BX on one, but once in production and if found reliable, I would have to pick one over the current BX when it wears out.

those things always make me laugh though, reguardless of who puts them out they always leave a few details out. Like the fact that you have to lower the scalp wheels before driving over the deck, and lower them back down again after you attach the mower. Funny how they leave out a few details to make it look all that more slick.

won't deny, it is cool. Wonder what the cost is..? Shafting, carrier bearnings, linkage, an install that can't be easy... its gotta be $600-700+

At my age, I would gladly pay whatever it costs IF, it works as advertised. I am a skeptic by nature.

I've been looking at mowers lately up to, and including the BX size / type tractors. When salesmen have come out to "help" me, I have asked each how easy it was to remove / replace the mower decks. After showing me ( but not actually doing anything) how you pull this lever, disconnect this gizmo, and unplug that thing some have not laughed when I would say "but the deck is still on the tractor". It is not really funny since it would be nice to actually be shown by having the deck removed, and replaced......... maybe then the dealerships would push the manufacturers to improve more than than the sales brochure. The truth is that there is most of the time a lot of wiggling, and jiggling, and crawling around to get decks on, and off. Of course that is part of the reason I am still mowning with my Simplicity. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the shiny one you haven't met yet. Like TrippleR, if the Deere system works as advertised, I wouldn't sweat the extra cost for one much. When I am able, I like to have the deck off every 25 hours, or so to sharpen blades, and service the tractor. My old "splash, and paddle" 12.5 hp Briggs engine lasted 1485 hours over 12 years by doing that, and still brought a good trade in price since it wasn't using any oil, and was running so well. My Legacy hasn't been cared for so well for a variety of reasons, and that is partly why I am looking at only 700 + hours. The commercial deck on that tractor is very well built, but heavy, and a bit of a job for me to get on, and off. It can help one perfect the art of "brook watching" or taking frequent breaks though. Material collectors are a pet peeve of mine too since they can be a pain to get on, and off alone. I have to say that Deere, and Simplicity are the best I've seen so far with the OEM stuff, but my deck is a left hand discharge (another reason to be looking) and none of the wagon type collectors will work with it. So, when something like this new "auto-connect comes along, I pay attention. I just wish deere would get the defective castings they found replaced, and get them out there so we can see them. I might even be an early tester.............. and I, like TrippleR, usually let others do that.

Deere is on the right track but it isn't perfect. That video will convince a lot of customers but if they do really well with it Kubota would be the next to step up and add drive over decks to their BX tractors. I have been asking my local Deere dealer when the 1 series was going to arrive and they said within this month and they are getting several units. I know that one will be a demo and will then have the opportunity to check it all out and see how well Deere did with their new design. One thing Deere should do is add drive over decks to their smaller garden tractors, say X300-X700 models. It is a pain to take out even those smaller decks and would make it a lot easier to service the deck if it was easily removable.
