Yep, I went ahead with the non-cab version of the 4720. I have a lot of work and couldn't justify waiting or renting another tractor. The 4720 is nice, definitely more stable with plenty of power. I got the 400x loader with a 73" bucket, a set of pallet forks, automotive cruise control, electric diverter kit with 3 additional rear scv's, and the T-N-T kit for around 32 k. Awesome machine, even though I was a little disappointed in the 3 pt lift capacity. Like my 4310, it struggles with the 42" sod rolls. According to the sod farm, the rolls are about 300 sq ft, 86' x 42". Obviously, they are close to the lifting capacity of this tractor. Hopefully I want tear the pump up in this one. I used the tractor all day Saturday and some Sunday and I must say I am impressed.

Congrats!!! The 4720 is a really nice size tractor in that you can still get into small areas but the 400X loader has great lift capacity. The horsepower of the unit also makes it stout! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Have fun with the new toy, I mean work horse. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cool deal, I would love to see pics of the power beyond, and all the SCV, etc. I love my 4720 - it is very handy. I need ot add some hydraulics to it.

Excellent!!! I just bought a 4520, and I am very happy with it. It is very stout, and I think a good machine. I am planning to put a review in once I have mowed with it; perhaps you would wish to do the same with the 4720. Also, has anyone figured out how to turn up these engines yet, since they are all the same? I understand that JD has gotten 70+ horsepower out of this engine in other applications, and I would like to do a smoky burnout soon with mine.

From what happened to my 4320 the key to making more boost and HP with these engines is the shimming of the injectors. The injector shimming gives the engine more fuel and that in turn makes more exahust gas which pushes the turbo at a higher speed , Which makes more boost. There is no waste gates or boost controls on the turbos on these engines.Mine will do 4 wheel burnouts up my drive way /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yes, please do write a review of your 4520, and add photos to it as well. I'm gathering information for a purchase myself, and you can't really have too much info in my opinion.

I wish I was /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif My UPS driver went over my curb and got his truck frame over the curb both front and back. I had to pull him off and it looked like a John Force burnout but we got him off. My drive way is 18 percent grade. After they fixed the tractor from my down on power problem it has more get up and go than the 4720 I test drove. According to the dealer my tractor dynoed at 45 PTO HP when it was having problems and it stalled in A and B range under light to medium load ( According to them 1 of the cylinders was about 150 degrees colder than the rest) They replaced the injector and reshimmed all the injectors. You can't stall it now. It just starts spinning the wheels /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif They would not re dyno it ? Which is ok with me /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif When it wasn't running right it max RPM at 2400 now it runs about 2850 to 2900 . Lots of black smoke under a load but it just keeps chugging.

Hi Mike,
I own a manufacturing business that mostly produces race car parts. We have done a few peices ( custom) for the diesel pickups but who knows maybe Tractors next???? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
