Thinking of a cab model 4WD NH, with air etc. I NEED the air because it is impossible for me to work when it's 120 plus here in the desert. Also since my property in 100% thick, deep beach sand, every time I pick up a load in the bucket I get a face full of bust that takes three minuted to clear. I can't always load with the wind to my back, I know you were thinking that.

Anyway I need some expert advise on why I should get a NH over the Kubota, Deere.

I have a Kubota 4310, and it lacks some lift capacity, it's only ta 1,600lbs., and the lift height id too low to clear a dump trailer I have with 4' sides ( by inches).

I have no complaints on the Kubota it's been a great tractor, but I watched the video on JD site where they showed the smoke test between a Kubota and a JD. WOW was I stunned, the JD was clear while the kubota cab was filled with smoke/dust.

Iwas leaning JD, but stopped by here and NH has peaked my interest, but their site has a lot to be desired as far as a selling tool.

So any NH experts that can help me understand why NH is the best tractor on the planet, I'll all ears.

Thanks in advance for the assist.

I am a sales manager for a NH dealer in upstate NY. I need to tell you that you are on the right track looking at NH tractors. They are the cadillac of tractors! Overall power to weight ratio is great and ergonomics and line of site view with a loader is the best in class. All cab units come with AC standard along with a top of the line air filtration system and sound suppression and pressurized cab. The new 4 cylinder TN tractors are fuel effecient and powerful. NH wont be the cheapest in price but features and standard options are industry leading. You may want to consider the new TT or TD series if you are looking for horsepower without all the frills. This new lean and mean tractors are back to basics offerings and are 1000's less than the TN series. The new loaders have lift capcities up to 3500lbs and better and come standard with quick attach buckets to make swaps for bale spears and forks or whatever easier. You can visit New Holland - Why Blue is Better for a media based interactive demo of some of the product lines and features. Bottom line, if you want a tractor built on value with the best standard features and highest resale value after 5 years, then NH is the answer. They have simply been at it for so long that have refined it to perfection. A pure joy to own and operate. Gaurenteed!!

Great that’s EXACTLY what I was looking for I will check out the link now.
Price wise, I’m willing to spend more for this to be my last tractor, but that’s what I said last time.
The main thing is I need to be cool on he summer, keep all the sand out of my eye’s, lungs, etc. and have some more lifting power.

wallace
Good link, thanks for opening my eye’s, I’m in Southern Ca. Desert, I will check out if I can get service on those brands.

Any drivers here that have gone from Kubota to NH??

Kendall, I think Larry_NFES did a great job of giving you a general overview of New Hollands. Did you notice that he told you the good points of New Hollands without bad-mouthing other brands? That is certainly the approach I like to hear when I'm looking at tractors.

Anyhow, you weren't specific about the models of JD or Kubota your were considering, and except for the cab and doing loader work, you didn't mention what kind of jobs will be the tractor's primary use. The TNs from NH are a great tractor, but something in the size of a TC55 might be a better fit for your jobs. Both the TN and the TC55 are a big step up from the Kubota 4310. However, I don't think NH makes a cab for the TC55. They just came out with a cab for the TC40/45 models, but I think the next step up to get that NH plush cab is the TN model. There is kind of a "cab gap" for someone who wants a tractor in the 50 hp range.

If I'm wrong about the cabs, someone please correct me.

Jinman..thanks for the positive feedback. New Holland is making a cab for the TC55DA third quarter this year. However, the TT60 has more power and will be considerably cheaper than the TC55DA...we're talking 1000's less! I agree, it all depends on the overall jobs he needs to perform and how many hours a day he will be operating the tractor. Might as well be comfortable and productive if your in the seat all day. :)

Kendall, seems like you've got some good feedback so far. I can't give you an honest opinion between Kubota and NH, having never owned a Kubota. But I can tell you that the cab on the TC45 is great. I wasn't sure how NH was going to get a cab on a small tractor, but their design is good. It has a good tight seal and has way more room than I thought it would. The heat and a/c works great. I was cutting some waist high brush the other day and there was dust and grass floating all around the cab, but I didn't smell or see one thing inside. And I had the a/c unit running. Good luck with your decision!

If you read carefully, you will find that the cabs that keep the dust out are the ones with positive pressure -- they filter the air that comes in, and pump it in faster than it can leak out to keep unfiltered air from seeping in through the cracks. When you're shopping around, ask about whether the cab is pressurized or not, kind of like a high end house for a hyperallergic person.

I don’t so much mind people bashing the competition, because sometimes there's a spec of truth in the bashing that I need to hear.

I’m a lot embarrassed to say that I’ve only put 200 hrs, on my tractor in the last 4 years. OK, stop laughing.

But in my defense, I’ve come to realize I only have time to work, full days on the tractor during the summer, then it’s 120 out and I just physically can’t do ( heck no 10 acre nursery with date palm trees and ficus trees. Even with the low hours each and every hour was essential and the tractor was needed for deliveries, clean up, back hoe trenching for water/power lines etc. For example I move 300 15 gallon ficus trees in 30 minutes from the green house to the storage building because of frost danger. That was only a ½ hour of tractor work, but it saved 25k worth of product. So in just 30 minutes the tractor earned it’s keep.

Also about 3 acres of that is mesquite trees needs to be cleared, and what I have just doesn’t have the lift capacity to move around the heavy palm trees after I dig them out, or have the reach to dump in a dump trailer I have.

I’m planning on getting a 3PH trencher ( Bradco), they say I need HST for the trencher.

The cab is more of a necessity than a luxury item. Driving between the date palms, can literally stab you in the eye, I’ve had more than one scare with the needles on the end of the palms slap back and hit my face - one time turned around in the seat deep in the trees and had a needle an inch from my eye.

Kendall69...most of our trades have low hours on them. We find that most customers either have different equipment for specific jobs like a skid steer or backhoe and only use the tractor for specfic functions as you do. Most estate owners, horse boarders, and landscapers tend to put more time on their units usually around 250 to 300 a year but the trades are still in great condition because they tend to take care of an item they paid 1000's for! A cab is almost a most here in NY where the summers have been really hot and the winters have been extremely cold, like now! :( Dont feel you have to justify to yourself to have a cab. Its not a luxury, its an option. If that's what you need, and it certainly counds like you do, then that's what you should buy!
