Buying Advice I need purchase advice for JD2320 and either a York RS or RW rake

I'm asking for it here because the minimum RW rake is 6 feet and the RS is 5 feet. I'm not sure if a six footer may be overly big for the 2320.

Other considerations the RS + wheels + blade + scarfer is $1000 less then the RW equivalents.

But the RW is imatch compatible and I think it has a fold down blade. Also cuffs are available for RW.

The local JD salesman is recommending the RS based on size.

Yeah, most initials I can figure out, but these have me stumped. Sounds like some type of drag or rake, but I'm just not sure.. I'm sure I'll be saying 'OH THAT WHAT RS AND RW' means, but right now I really have no idea...

I didn't know what RS or RW was either so I googled it, here are the results:

RS and RW are York rake model numbers. But the question was 'would a 5ft or a 6ft rake be more suitable for the power of the 2320'.

I use a 60" with guage wheels (wheels I find most important), the machine can handle larger no problem and it covers the wide of the machine. Its just depends or price and ease of spaces if tight, other 72" will be fine. I do suggest wheels however

I use a 6 foot landscape rake with my 2320. It handles it fine. Now for a box blade I think a 4 footer is ideal with my 2320. My 4 footer works well, but I think a 5 footer will bog it down quite a bit. Those york rakes you linked look quite a bit heavier than the rake I have. I have the Frontier (can't think of the model #) so I'm not sure how the 2320 will work with those. Being that they have scarifier teeth on front and added weight, I would probably lean towards the 5 foot model 'playing it safe'. Hope that helps.

This may help.

My 32hp JD 3320 needs max throttle to run the 59" snow blower up the driveway.

But it will drag a 7 ft JD medium duty landscape rake with gauge wheels up the same driveway even at idle.

My langscape rake does not seem to need a lot of power but see what other TBN posters think.

The JD Frontier 7 ft medium duty rake with wheels cost me about $1,400 before tax & a similar Woods brand was about the same.
