I need a yoke for a PTO shaft.

Right after I got my tractor I got a finish mower.
The push button on the yoke was broke,
so I drilled it out and have been using a bolt all this time.
Well, this year I am tired of using that bolt and want it fixed right.
I took the yoke off the shaft, but can't seem to find a new yoke.
I tried Tractor Supply. The store I tried didn't have it.
The catalog for TSC lists series numbers, but not specs.
And I have no idea what series yoke I need.

I did get a new U joint for it from O'Rielly's Auto Parts. Part #344
There is an ag version of this u joint but they didn't have it in stock.
I figured the regular version would be fine for a finish mower.

The U joint as best as I can measure it is 2 15/16 by 2 15/16
and the caps are 1 1/16 diameter. Held in the yoke by snap rings.

Other than that, standard cat 1 PTO shaft.
1 3/8, 6 spline, 540 RPM push button yoke.
60 inch Big Bee Finish Mower.

What yoke do I need for this and/or where can I get one.

Look for a number on the cross (on the end that hasn't been replaced) that matches the series (6N, 12N, 14N, 35, 35N, 44N). You could also take the shaft to TSC and match the size to the crosses that they stock. Our local TSC's usually have some yokes in stock and also a kit to replace the plunger and spring, which may be all that you need.

Our local TSC has a pretty good selection too and may have the one you want. They did not have mine though. Still looking for that oddball 18 spline, 25mm yoke. See previous post. They did have the cross though, a 6R

I emailed Agri-Supply about that yoke.
They said that one is metric and they don't have the one I need.

I need the whole yoke. I drilled out where the button went.
I have just been using a bolt for the last couple of years.
It's a pain in the rear to have to go get wrenches to unhook a PTO shaft.

I'll check the other end of the shaft and look for markings.
This end has an e on it. The e is in a block.

I might try a couple of different TSC stores.
The one I tried didn't have anything even close.

Our local Co-Op didn't have it.
May try the Co-Op in the next county.

Somebody has to have this yoke somewhere.

I meant to post about this yesterday.
I got the yoke and a new U joint yesterday from OReilly's AutoParts.
They had to order it and I picked it up yesterday.

I also need a main pulley (SOON) for my finish mower.
Since Sweet Tractors handles that brand I mite try them.
I have seen his posts on the board.

How does one go about deciding which category PTO shaft they have? I have been searching for a couple of days for information to determine the size on my Woods RM-990, since it is not the factory original the manual is no help. This one was an upgrade from the shear bolt original to a slip clutch style and was at least one step up in sizing as far as the u-joints size.

I got a large drain pipe rubber gasket wrapped around two of the spindles, the clutches did not slip thinking I was bogged on a dirt clump I did not react and jerk the PTO out of gear fast enough, and ended up with a busted u-joint on the tractor end. It spread the ears a bit which I think I can bend back enough with a press to make it work. Would just like to find a simple chart or something. This is a square type PTO shaft, not the crimped 3 point Italian style you see on so much of the equipment these days.

Guess I need to pull the entire shaft, give it a diesel fuel bath, then see if I can find a name or number on it. The busted u-joint is a Precision #880 and I have the NAPA replacement #250-1400 Any input would sure be appreciated.

I looked and looked and looked and never could find a chart
listing the dimensions on U joints and yokes and shafts.
Finally I just took it into some places and OReilly's matched it up.
