I would like to get a rotary cutter, disk and box blade. I can't decide about I match vs JD's optional and expensive telescoping lower links (Kubota is included for free JD!).

Does any one know if I match can be added to the optional and expensive JD telescopic lower links.

Thanks

I've got the telescoping links because I didn't want to try to get the I match to work with a phd and my finish mower, but I don't see why you couldn't just stick the I match on what I have. Only problem might be the now even longer overhang of the implements since the links already add eight or so inches of length to the arms and the I match would add more to that.

I'd urge you to get both if you can. I have both I-match and the telescoping links. The I-match will not always accommodate all your attachments...even JD attachments. In those cases the telescoping links come in real handy. Yes, you can have both and use your attachments with no problem. If pressed to choose between one or the other, I'd encourage you to get the telescoping links. They're indispensable.

The telescopic links are optional cause Deere is pushing iMatch. With good reason it is a great setup.

Except, it has some limitations. The links always work.

And it moves the atachment back, requiring more ballast due to the leverage. If you are usong a heavy rotary cutter that is almost too big for your tractor (like me) the telescopic links are the way to go.

If you get the links, order them as a bundle seperate from the tractor, you/ll have both sets of links. (fixed and telescopic) If you order it all as a package deal, you will probably get only one....

Why would you want both fixed and telescopic?

When I purchased my JD4710, I ordered it with the telescoping links. The dealer also gave me the fixed ones as these came as standard equipment. It's always nice to have both in case the telescoping ones get damaged or bent due to hard work or negligence. In that case the fixed ones are readiliy available to use as backups to use while I'm waiting on a new set of the telescoping links.

I hadn't thought of it that way.

The books advertising the 4000 series tractor also mention something called "ball and claw" lower links. Suspect these are something similar to Pat's Easy Change system instead of the plain balls at the end. Dealer didn't know a thing about them. He was ready to sell me an iMatch though. Since putting my LX4 on castors, it's not bad putting it on and off. Worst part is loosening and tightening the turnbuckles. IMatch eliminates having to do that.
