I haven't owned a tractor before and I'm shopping for a used one. The details are in the beginning of this thread.

My girlfriend is convinced, and I agree, that Kubota would be our first choice. The situation is that I know of a great deal on a NH that seems too good to pass up. I'm curious what you Kubota boys would advise someone in our postition, take the good NH deal or wait for a Kubota which would probably have more hours on it. The NH has never been sold and has a full term factory warranty.

Here's the details on the NH:

I think all the fellas in that other thread have given you your answer. If you decide to not take their advice, don't waste your time kicking yourself later for passing up on a good deal. If you really want orange, then wait, but don't expect to find a deal like that - they're likely few and far between.

I would jump on that deal like a pack of dogs on a three-legged cat and not look back. New Holland is a good tractor.

Why? Is she from Tennessee? That would explain a fetish for orange.

Kubotas are fine, but so are other brands, and you already have what looks like a great deal available to you. The dealer is important, too. I'm sure you must have read that here on TBN a time or two -- or more. :)

Thanks all. It's tough to advise someone about a large purchase when you don't really know what you're talking about. I appreciate the help.

There is a Kubota dealership about 15 miles from our place and the service manager seems like a good man. I met him one day when I dropped in to ask about used Kubotas and he ended up spending about 30 minutes talking to me and letting me drive some tractors.

There are a few NH dealers around but I don't have any experience with them. The closest one is about 30 miles away and there are 4 or 5 within 50 miles. The NH I'm looking at is at a dealership that is several hundred miles away.

You better get it before someone else does. That is a killer deal.

Yep, I've owned two Kubotas and was very happy with them, but if John Deere or New Holland had beat Kubota's deal, I've no doubt I'd have been happy with them, too. So if I were in the market, the only reason I'd turn down that "good NH deal" would be if I was confident I could get a better deal by waiting. And in this case, I'd say getting a better deal is doubtful at best.

Are you saying we don't know what we are talking about? :)

That puts it in a different light. Have you considered the tax implications, if any, if it is in a different state?

Buy what will make you happy, and keep you happy for many years to come!

I've never found such a great deal on anything that could not be duplicated..

No SnowRidge, I'm talking about ME advising my girlfriend. You knew that didn't you?

The dealership is in the same state.
