I JUST HAD TO TELL SOMEONE, so I came to my friends here on TBN. The wife and I have wanted to leave the city for sometime but with 10 years before retirement we were not in a hurry. We have a second home in the mountains to fill the decompression needs and use the tractor. My father-in-law had some heart problems recently and had to have some serious surgery so we were spending a lot of time in the wife's home town. Between shifts at the hospital we made the ten mile trip out to some property that a family friend had on the market, just to take a look. Well we fell in love with this place. After a month of soul searching and a number of trips to the property we decided it was to special not to buy even if it does require an earlier move than we had planned. Well yesterday evening we reached a deal and will soon be rural homeowners.
Our new place is in N.W. Georgia about 60 miles from Atlanta. The land is a 32-acre tract that is heavily wooded with a mix of mature Pine and hardwood. There is roughly 3 acres cleared and nicely landscaped around the house and the 16x32 block out building. The house is a nice 3 bed, 2 bath with unfinished walk out basement. Most of the house has been redone in the last three years. There is a new septic, county water (also a good well), about 500' of paved drive and a good amount of paved road frontage. Now the part we could not walk away from was the 6 acre lake that sits about 40' behind the house. The lake is spring feed, 20' deep at the dam, has a new floating dock, very clear water quality, has been stable during our resent years of drought and is completely hidden from the surrounding properties. I believe I will be taking up fishing soon and I haven't been skinny dipping in years. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Of course I am already explaining to the wife that we will HAVE TO get a larger tractor and lots of new implements. I'll save that for another tread but as a true and loyal TBN member my mind is cooking.
Sorry about the long post, I JUST HAD TO TELL SOMEONE!
