I got a new trailer, but can I tow it?

Personally I would put brake controllers in your truck and the bro's 3/4 ton. I probably would not otherwise modify the 1/2 ton at all if you only plan to keep it a couple of more years and only use it to tow the trailer for light duty stuff and use the 3/4 to move the tractor. As most mentioned the 1/2 ton is probably capable, but if it is not safe and comfortable with it why take the chance?

Sorry for the late reply but went on a week long boating trip. Looked up 95 GMC 1500 4x4 5.0 and it says only the 3.73 gears were available. It says the max is 6,500# and has a note if its a auto to install a aftermarket tranny cooler. You have a manual so not sure what you need to do but that is the numbers my book have.
