We have about 4" so far. Stopped for awhile now snowing again. Just no place to put it.

It's a beautiful spring morning here - sunny and 41*. Snow's been melting off pretty good here. I'm going out to do some fence work on my day off.

I'll offer a few more thoughts on snow moving.

--A loader is pretty indispensible - I wouldn't want to take it off. Besides bucketing snow which is slow business, I float and drag it to finish off blower work

--Rear blower makes a lot of sense in terms of tractor physics/balance

--Can't say again how much difference the ballast makes

I won too. Photo attached is from last Saturday. Right bank is 7 feet tall- can't throw it any higher. Tonight's snow will have to go to the left!

That's the most impressive snow removal machine I have ever seen:)

I added v-bar chains to my front tires this winter to go-along with the ones on my rear tires and it made all the difference.

Winter is hanging tough here in Northern Ontario Canada. We have had no melt here at all. It's -15C this morning.

Here in Pennsylvania I use the Gravely tractor (2 wheel drive) to do most of the plowing. For years I had chains on the rear AG tires and had a hard time driving up the driveway. This year I didn't install them and easily drove up the snow covered driveway and then plowed downhill. It has a 48" plow which is ideal for pavement work. My Kubota was used for next day clean up of piles plowed by Gravely. It went into the yard where it could melt when it was ready too.

My sister commented that she didn't understand why I bought the Kubota and that I have too many toys. (I also bought a 4 stroke Honda snowblower after last years Valentine's Day snowstorm. Not used this year at all.)

I told her to bite her tongue and mind her own business. She could talk if she was willing to shovel the snow from a three car parking lot, a 80' pavement and a driveway that leads to the garage behind the house. She kept quite after that. :)

I lost.
Dark, running against the clock, 40 mph winds causing white out conditions. Solution? Crank 'er up to the 8th notch and hope it's not as bad as you know it could be. Some times you get through, some times you don't.
It's been a long winter!!

Here in WV it is cloudy but 62 degrees. No snow but alot of mud. I'll take the mud over the snow any day.

Where was the train photo taken and how are you going to get it out? That is crazy.

Northern Maine.
They ran a blower up to the rear car and then grabbed that car with another unit. Repeated that till they could run the blower up to the unit that was stuck. Then they made the hitch on it with a bunch of cars and pulled with the seconed unit. The cars act like a chain so you can back into them, bunching them up and snap ahead. Again, repeat as nessesary.
This isn't common but we had 4 trains stuck similar to this that week.
