My new-to-me tractor got here today :D

TC40DA Supersteer HST(430 hours) 17LA loader, 6' NH rotary mower.

No pictures though; we're doing some remodel. My camera is packed away...

Was too busy to tractor much, but did switch the mower for my too small scraper(5'), and played a bit in a dirt pile.

So used to my previous Kubota with a treadle HST pedal; when I wanted to back up I kept trying to use my heel, but all I found was floorboard...

Will be interesting; this is a jump from a mid sized "B" series 19hp tractor to a much larger 40hp tractor.

Congratulations Robert! It would seem that "Big Blue" is not necessarily IBM.;)

This Supersteer sure turns tight; this this will turn tighter than my old tractor, which was a lot smaller. And that, is without touching the cutting brakes.

It is a bit different the brakes being on the left, and no clutch.

I want to back up with my heel; the side by side forward/reverse pedals are different.

My old tractor did not have interlocks; only a clutch safety switch. This has to be in neutral to start, and will die if you get up from the seat.

So far has been pretty cool, for the 30 minutes I have had to trying it out :D

Set the parking brake (make sure the light is illuminated) and it won't die if the range switch is in neutral and you get up off the seat.

I have a bit to learn. My "old" tractor was 25 years old and was not so feature rich.

I got this my a local dealer, who had it in on consignment. He is working on getting the manual from the previous owner. That should help.

I put the scraper on; it is narrow for the tractor. Will have to do for now. I have a ball mounted off the back of it for my trailers. It was easy to hook up with the sliding 3pt arms. It was easy to get lined up on the trailer with the power steering. My old Kubota was pretty easy too, but the Armstrong steering made it a little harder(still pretty easy though).

I brought the trailer up to connect to the truck; I have to go get some 16' and 20' lumber. Parked the tractor next to the trailer; this tractor with scraper will use every inch of the 16' trailer. Bigger trailer is definitely not in the budget for the foreseeable future.

The fun of figuring out the new machinery :D

Best of luck, you bought a superb tractor. Once you get used to the 2 pedal hydro you will never go back to a rocker treadle. My basic tractor is virtually the same as yours and it does everything I ask of it so well that it surprises me every time I use it. :D

I know how you feel. I went from a 1950 Ford 8n to a 2003 New Holland TN75. I found myself calling my dad (75 years old) looking for help and he could remember things from the mid 50's. He hadn't been on one for over 50 years but he could remember where all the levers were and how each one functioned and that was by phone not standing next to it like I was. Congrats the TC40DA!
