Twice I created oil leaks on the BH77. I was working in a muddy area putting in drainage ditches and mud and sticks would work up under the swing cylinders. This would cause the rear fittings on the swing cylinders to work loose when using the swing.
The first time I just tightened them up and refilled with oil. The second time it happened I figured there must be a way to prevent this.
I repositioned the fittings and hoses on the rear of the swing cylinders.
The first picture shows the original set up. The two right angle fittings at the rear of the cylinders are the ones that would work loose. These cylinders pivot from side to side when using the swing, so you can see if anything gets caught in this area how it would effect the fittings.
In the other picture you can see I moved the fittings and strapped them in place just in case something would get stuck in by the cylinders. I operated the swing full right and left and checked for clearance issues. Everything looked good.
The clamps could be avoided if the hoses were replaced with ones that have straight fittings.
