Twice I created oil leaks on the BH77. I was working in a muddy area putting in drainage ditches and mud and sticks would work up under the swing cylinders. This would cause the rear fittings on the swing cylinders to work loose when using the swing.

The first time I just tightened them up and refilled with oil. The second time it happened I figured there must be a way to prevent this.
I repositioned the fittings and hoses on the rear of the swing cylinders.

The first picture shows the original set up. The two right angle fittings at the rear of the cylinders are the ones that would work loose. These cylinders pivot from side to side when using the swing, so you can see if anything gets caught in this area how it would effect the fittings.

In the other picture you can see I moved the fittings and strapped them in place just in case something would get stuck in by the cylinders. I operated the swing full right and left and checked for clearance issues. Everything looked good.

The clamps could be avoided if the hoses were replaced with ones that have straight fittings.

Thanks for this post, I'll try to keep an eye on mine. I've been loving the extra power of the BH77 compared to my old BX23.

Speaking of the swing cylinders, on my BH77 I can't find any zerk fitting or way to grease the cylinder pivots. The cylinder rod ends have zerks, but not the "trunnions" that mount the cylinder barrel to the frame. This is also not shown as a lube point in the owner's manual. I did squirt it with lube spray, but seems like it should be greased.

How can this be?? Am I missing something?

thanks,

I don't know the answer or I would help, but I was thinking you might have better luck starting your own thread. This old thread is over 2 years old and its title does not pertain to your question. I would recommend starting a thread in this Kubota owning operation forum maybe title "need help with greasing BH77" or something like that.

On the BH77, the swing cylinders are mounted via two "trunnions" (e.g. like the trunnions that mount a cannon to its carriage. On the end of each trunnion there's an accessible hole, but these holes look to be just the center holes used when turning the trunnion on a lathe - can't see any threads that would indicate a zerk fitting would be screwed in there - and I tried anyway :c(

I'm assuming the BH75 is the same in this regard as the BH77, so if you own either, comment appreciated.
