I can\'t decide! 4110, 3120 or 4310

Here's my situation.
A couple oy years ago I bought a X485 with FEL and rear pto with boxblade. It's excellent for mowing my lawn but doesn't cut it for the rest of my property. I live in Florida and have 2.5 acres. 1/3 is mowable. The rest I have stumps to remove, palmettos to clear and around 30 loads of dirt to spread.

I am looking at the 4110, 3120 and 4310. I want it to have turf tires, 4wd, FEL, Belly Mower, box blade and LX 4. I know these tractors are all together different models and sizes. But, the price difference between them all is about $5K. I don't want to undersize again but I also am worried that too big may be bad for my lawn.
Can anyone shed some light for me?

Thanks

BTW, my X485 is For Sale!!

I am thinking a 4115 would be the best choice. But Can you wait a bit? There should be new models announced soon. Sounds like a 2720 (intelligent guess to possible new model) would be just what you would want...

I am afraid the mid chassis would be a little more than what you want running over your lawn. But if not. either the 3120 or 4310 should be fine. the 4310 is a little stronger, the 3120 has a little better visibility.

Mike,

What about a 4210? Is this too big for lawns? I appreciate you chimming in. I just want to be sure and not regret my purchase.

Thanks

Chuck

Re: I can\'t decide! 4110, 3120 or 4310

First, there are lots of 4210 iwners who are quite happy with their choice. That is great, I do not want to offend them.

The 4210 offers the lowest power to weight ratio of the 10s. That might not be a problem at all. But it is a lot harder to remedy later, if it does turn out to be a problem. I have heard from several dealers that they hated selling it, it just ended up coming back to bite them too often.

And now the 20s are out and even the 4310 gets the reputation of being underpowered. Things sure look worse for the 4210.

Also, the 10 series was different than the 20s in other areas. Even though the 4210 is a midchassis machine, it had lower hydralic capacity and different dimension than the 4310/4410. It is a new thing to have all the machines in a class differ only by the engines power.

The 4115 is a power to weight champ. It has lots of power in a little package. If I were looking for something to be a great lawn machine, and still have lotsa power, it is a great choice.

But, then, they don't have loadmatch. I will muddy things up and say that loadmatch can make a lot of difference.

Consider all of this to be a 'finger to the wind' not the final authority. Discuss these things with your dealer. If she wants to strongly suggest a model, that you aren't 100% sure of, have them arrange a test on your property...

Hmmmmmmmmmm - what is the FEL load capacity of the 4115 ? I can't find the answer on Deere's web site ...

thanks

Re: I can\'t decide! 4110, 3120 or 4310

The other thing about the 4115 is that it's direct injection. Think that makes it a tad more efficient. Cold starting shouldn't be a problem in Florida without the glow plugs.

Think the 4115 is only about 3k$ more than a 4110.
