I bought a RFM and an auger at auction Sat.

I bought a 50" Befco RFM for 450 Sat. And I bought a Leinbach 9" auger for 300. Were these decent prices? The mower has its original paint but minus the driveshaft and two of the original wheels (has some other ones that you can tell arent' the same), and the auger is brand new with everything.

$300 for the (new) auger is a fantastic price
$450 would (should /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) have bought a 50" in like new condition.

Are you happy with the price? If so, then the price was right. I think you did fine. Each of us has to pay what we think is right when we go to auctions.

I would have been happier for about a hundred dollars less but that is the way auctions go around here. Does anyone else have an opinion as to if these were good deals or not.

take her to ones where she can get something too. Auctions are a blast. You have to watch them though, not all operators are on the up and up. My fil has been going to them for years and he is pretty sharp on pricing, especially antiques, glass and skillets.

There is one next week at a small house near me, ALL NEW CRAFTSMAN tools from a distributor that has figured out how to make a living doing this. I can not wait, got my mad money set aside, and my Christmas list made.
