hydrostatic trans issues

LS model J27. Unit loses power after short use will not pull up even a small incline forward or reverse. No power at all in high range. Changed both filters and fluid seemed to help a little. Suspect hydr unit but looking for confirmation. All other hydraulics normal. Looking at part # MT40254231 for around $1300. Any suggestions

Do you have a service or repair manual for your LS? There may be some pressure tests that you can perform to determine if it is a simple component failing or the complete HST.
