At what RPM does you Hyd. Plus Trans. start working when you are using the Stall Guard. Also can it be changed? My engine rpm drops way down before it well start working. Now I'm not talking about the Auto-Throttle Advance, I changed that.
Thanks, Lee

I must of worded this all wrong. When using Stall-Guard how low does you rpm drop down when engine gets loaded down before Stall-Guard starts working?

I am not sure the % drop that initiates the stalgaurd mode but I have noticed that it is linked directly to the hst response dial setting.
That means if you have your response setting too slow it takes too long to react and drops below the optimal power range when mowing.
When mowing or bush hogging I set my dial to the fastest response and the stalgaurd reacts quickly enough to only drop a few hundred RPMs.
I NEVER use auto throttle with any PTO equipment and use the cruise a lot when mowing. Works great.:D

I'm sure going to check that out.I used it today but was only packing dirt, so no need for the stall gaurd.

You have HST Plus then?

Can you explain the real world differences between the HST and HST Plus?

Go to the Messick's website and browse in the Service Department area. They have several articles and tips that cover both the older HST and the HST Plus drives. From reading the Kubota posts over a period of time, there are quite a few members who have HST drive tractors that could benefit from reading how HST works. The understanding of what is happening mechanically could help them more successfully utilize the tractor to meet their needs.

An example is Operating Kubota HST-Plus

This shows the controllable features of HST Plus and the tractor reaction to the options. There is another brief article in the same service department section that gives HST operating tips. It will be obvious after reading both what HST Plus adds to make it easier for most operators who learn the features and how to use them.

That would be quite a wordy reply. Not to be rude, but there is a great video on the Kubota website that shows how the stall guard plus operates and all the benefits. On my HST-2, I use my auto-throttle all the time for most work, FEL, and blading activity, it really does save fuel. Cruise control is great for mowing, tilling, and traveling down the road. I also like the HST response dial, which I normally have turned to low so it is not so jerky. Have not really used stall guard at all. Philip.
