I have torn up two of the plastic cooling fans in a year. There is not protective guard over the fan, so, it is vulnerable to sticks and what not. Has anyone else had this problem? I am going to ask my dealer if New Holland has addressed this issue.

It is not a new repair and from what I've seen it is not the worst way to cool the rear end. A belly pan would help but can also be a collect all!

You are right art....a cage or cover over it would just be a catch all for debris.

Can you put a skid plate under it at least - maybe between frame members somehow? I know the little Kubota's have a similar issues and the best solution seems to be a skid pan/plate to help protect it.

Good idea. I know I will have my dealer do it. I don't want to void that five year warranty!
