That ball0on of a tank reminds me of a gas tank I was working on back in the eairly 70s. I was still in high school. 10ft tall and bullet proof. I had a 1959 chevy pickup truck. The gas tank was behind the seat in those old truck. Well the gas tank has sprung a small leak. Not having money for a new tank, I decided it needed welding up. I was young and dumb, but not dumb enough to stick a oxy/act torch to a gas tank. I remove the tank, drained it, washed it out several times with soap and water, filled with water and sit down and thought about it. Not being satisfied it was safe to weld on, I took a long stick, tied a rag to the end of it, set it on fire and stuck it to the filler neck of the gas tank. Whoosh!, tank took off like a jet engine, spewing fire from the filler neck and looked like a balloon when it stopped sliding across the asphalt. Well I fired up the torch, welded up the hole, squeesed it back in shape and put it back on the truck. No more leaks. Now that I am older and not nearly 10ft tall or as bullet proof as I would like to be. I dont think I would do the same thing over again.
