Hi Guys,

I Have put over 250 hours on my machine and so far so good. Had the dealer service it at 100 hours and I have done filters (it dusty her in Australia) ever 50 thereafter.

I have noticed however that the last two times I have used the mower the deck has a noticable delay in raising when the lifting lever is pulled up. In the past it has been nearly "instantaneous".

If I rais the deck then lower it again a few times it does seem to become more reactive and responsive.

To me sounds like something in the hydraulics - I give it a wash occasionally could water in the oil cause this problem??

The bucket seems to be operating and responding normally as does the forward / reverse - so am not sure.

Thanks for any thoughts,

Steve.

Check to see if the oil has bubbles in it or if it looks milky.

Gerry - thanks for the reply - the oil is NOT milky in the little sight window at the rear but the first time I noticed the deck raising slowly I got off and had alook in the sight window and thought I noticed bubbles.

What does that mean??

Regards,

Steve L

If there are air bubbles, you have a suction leak somewhere. The air bubbles would a count for the slow response time. If you can suck out some of the oil with something or drain a little bit after it has been run. Put the oil in a clear glass jar so that you can inspect it.

Jerry had a look today there are bubbles in the oil.

Seems that the oil looked Ok until I started the mmm then the sight glass was very obviously frothy.

Does this mean it is sucking air somewhere??

When the machine is sitting level without the engine running the sight glass in the back is almost full to the top with oil - so I didnt think that the level was low - is it a more sinister problem ??? I guess pumping frothy oil through the pump is also no good at all...

What do you think is the problem / solution

Thanks and regards,

Steve

Ok guys I have replaced the hydraulic oil and installed a new filter -

I notice that driving around and using the bucket is OK but when I run the MMM the oil in the site glass does get some bubblesa in it - not as bad as befor but still there none the less - could this be contamination from the old oil?? that doesnt drain out - ie the stuff in the bucket hyrraulic lines ??

Or is it some thing else

If you get off the tractor and listen carfully just above the left back wheel I the hydraulic hoses seem to be more noisy that I remember - and do sound like they are pumping air bubbles.

Mowing some heavy clover on the week end I also reckon the mower is loading up the engin more somehow - it is not just powering through as usual.

Any suggesting for what to do next - getting to the stage where I think it needs a major trip to the dealer mechanic :(
