I posted awhile back that the hydraulics on our MF 240 ('95 model) had been 'fixed'. At the time the FEL nor the 3pt were working very well when we took ownership. We gave it to a mechanic and he simply told us all he did was replace the oil and clean the fine mesh hydraulic oil filter screen with a wire brush. We got a few hours of trouble free use out of the tractor then began having problems with the 3pt hitch BUT the loader is working fine.
My observations:
1) when tractor is at lowest rpms (idle) lift arms will sometimes raise very slowly.
2) When we turn tractor OFF the lift arms will immediately raise
3) I think problem started after I used a tree to adjust the angle on a rear blade (which was stuck by 40 yrs of rust) by pushing against a tree to apply force (but very slowly)
Any thoughts as to cause of this problem?
