Still researching and kicking tires.

If I was to buy a X or a 400 series tractor, do they come from the factory with the hydraulics upfront that are necessary to run a Johnny Bucket Senior (needs two sets of hydraulics)? What I should do, is get out from behind the computer screen, and go check it out at a JD dealer. If only they were open 24 hours!

Thank you,
Chris

I'm pretty sure that all the JD X700 series has 4 hydraulic ports standard with two hydraulic function levers. You can find out for sure without leaving the computer by going to deere.com.

Pretty standard on the 400 series (425, 445, 455) and the X series. Are you looking to buy used?

You should be fine with the stock hydraulics, especially on the X series. They have a hydraulic coupler whic has four ports and two dash mounted levers. When I ran a 45 front bucket on my X595 I did not require any additional hydraulics, but I did have to have a diverter valve to lock the mower out if I wanted to keep it on when using the front loader--which I rarely did. This should be plenty of hydaulics to operate a slip scoop style bucket.

I find the hydraulics on my X585 to be quite strong. When I have the 54" plow blade on, it is easy to over apply the downward force on the blade, which leads to easily lifting the front wheels off the ground. The side to side pressure is also v good, becuse I can have a full head of steam and a full blade of snow, and easily adjust the angle of the blade from side to side.

My other example is the ability to easily move up and down the 47" snowblower. I have no idea what it weighs but it sure comes up fast, and like the blade, i can make the front wheels come off the ground.

I had an X485 with a 45 loader before getting my BX. The X series hydraulics are fine for the attachments JD makes available for them as well as something like the johnny bucket. The relief pressure setting is 1,000 PSI +/-. I did use some shims to boost mine to 1250 PSI for loader work with no problems. I have read threads over on weekendfreedommachines.com where a few brave souls pushed their relief pressure up to 1,700 or so with no short term problems (haven't checked back there in quite some time so I don't know if any issues developed). The top of the line X series are the cadilac of GTs.
