This past weekend I finally got around to installing the two rear SCVs on my 3038e that I bought from JD last December and I just ordered a hydraulic top link from Surplus Center.
I was thinking.... what if I mount two small hydraulic cylinders in parallel.... one on each drag link.... in place of the adjusting chains.... and use the extra SCV to control the width of the drag links from the seat?
I have Pat's Easy Change installed and it can be a PITA to backup to an implement and get your drag links just the right distance apart so that PEC lines up with the hitch pins on the implement. I was thinking that if I use one SCV to control the width of the drag links it would be much easier to attach an implement AND, once attached to the implement, the hydraulic cylinders would act as the tightening chains.
Thoughts? What potential damage/breakage could I induce by doing this?
