I was just reading "Impressions of the new BX25" and had a couple of questions I was hoping could be explained. I had a BX24 and just got rid of it a couple of months ago because of the "lack" of power with the FEL/ Backhoe? When I checked the specs of several different machines the psi was rated for about 2000. I assumed my lack of power with the backhoe/ FEL was from a lack of hydraulic capacity (gpm) vs. the PSI. My questions are:
Does the flow (gpm) affect the machine's power, or just the speed of the implement?
Does the PSI for the system change as RPM increases (I would assume so)? Or is it constantly running as the same PSI.
I would like to shim my new 2920 only if it will not damage the system. If the PSI changes with engine RPM then I have a feeling one could damage the system at higher RPM's?
Could I install a larger hydraulic pump to increase the FEL/ other hydraulic implement?
I always felt my BX24 had plenty of power when mowing/ towing/ pushing stuff. I just wished the FEL/ Backhoe were more powerful.
