It is an "alternative" to the screw type (adjustable) toplink that's all...

OK -- I saw it and thought it may be something where you could skip the hydraulic hoses etc. but I guess not from what you fellas are saying...to bad ! I wondered how you could adjust it from the seat of the tractor..I could not get their video link to work so I still can't figure out how it is any better than the standard top link...

We've noted that youtube seems to be having some difficulties today. We hope they get it corrected soon. Our video page is at Demonstration video

After loading the youtube page a few times, the videos came back online. Direct links to the youtube videos are at:

This video shows exactly how it works...

How to install HydrauLink

I know that a few TBN users have purchased HydrauLinks but I've not seen any reviews from them yet.

If you have any questions feel free to email or call us anytime.

I see it as a "quick adjust" top link. Of course, if you have to shorten it to raise the rear of your implement off of the ground... well, you can't. You have to raise your implement and sit the rear on a block (or something), then adjust the link.

There are many uses for a REAL hydraulic top link, however my MAIN reason for buying one is so I can retract the ram and raise the rear of my cutter for transport... in addition to raising the 3ph. (Simply lifting my 3ph does not get the rear of my cutter high enough for transport.) This gets to be a pain with the standard top link... and can't be done with the HyrauLink. That is, unless you set your implement on something the block up the rear. Not what I want to do out in the field when I am ready to come home.

If you watch the videos we've posted you'll see several live demonstrations. You do not have to use a block of any kind nor do you need to flat ground on which to make adjustments. The videos should make this clear to anyone who watches them.

Again, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly for more information. We'll be happy to help.

"I rest his case. ...."

Pretty well have to agree. This thing does not apply any of its own power or force to raise or lower the implement.....it's all gravity. It'll easily enough allow you to drop the rear of the implement, dandy. But it cannot lift anything. As another poster said, find a rise or gully and you could probably get the rear of the implement back up, open the valve on the Hydraulink, and lock once again. Okay.....(?)

But, for the money we're talking here, I ain't interested at all. I don't find myself needing to adjust my top-link all that often and when I do the last $20 manual top link I bought at TSC years ago is easy enough and a heck of a lot more cost effective.

Don't wish the inventor/company any ill will...........just sayin', though.

Appears to be a handy gadget. On my bush hog, if I lower it to the ground with the 3ph, I can tighten the top link with very easy rotation to within about 1/2" of its fully retracted length. This is what this gizmo would do. It's only that last 1/2" of tightening that requires me to exert measured turning motion to get it fully retracted.

So, you can easily test how much this thing might raise your bush hog by doing the above. Just retract the top link until a slight amount of force is needed to shorten it further. Raise the hog and see how high it is. It'll likely be high enough for transport.

In my mind, the safest transport is to remove the top length and either secure it to the tractor or flop it back onto the bush hog. Then raise the front of the bush hog with the 3ph. The front will be the same height as in normal "transport" position, but the trail wheel will be on the ground where it'll carry about 1/2 the load of the "hog". It's less likely then to act as extra rotation weight to throw the tractor around if you lose rear wheel traction.

In the meantime, this gizmo has enough adjustment to act as a really good easily adjustable top link, WITHOUT HAVING TO INSTALL REMOTE HYDRAULICS.

Coleman lanterns will light your house without all those messy wires having to be strung up outside and inside the walls of your house, but you'll just have to know that some of us prefer electrical lighting.;)
