OK, aside from the cool factor, is there real necessity for going to a hydraulic top link? I just bough my first tractor with FEL and mower, but forsee the need for box scraper, turf management etc in the near future.

Robb welcome to TBN. I would rank a hydraulic top link right up there with a tooth-bar. A hydraulic top link will give you the ability to make changes in the attitude of whatever implement that you decide to use. Once more these changes can be made to the implement while you are on the move. Example: While using a box blade you can go from using the rippers to dragging soil just by extending or retracting the top link. Sure it can be done manually without the use of hydraulics but once you use one, believe me you'll never go back.

See if you can talk any other TBN members out of their hydraulic top links. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif You'll see what I mean.

I'm going to get one as soon as I can. I already have a rear remote and as mentioned, a box blade can function in a number of rolls depending on the angle and the height of the teeth. I'm getting tired of jumping down and twisting that top link every time I want to make a change.

Also, my JD rotary cutter has a sliding mast assembly that allows the mower to follow the terrain very nicely. You can fine tune the rise and fall a great deal with the top link and a hydraulic one would allow me to do so on the move. My property is rough and hilly so this would be very nice. As soon as I find a few hundred bucks lying around I'm getting one.

Anyone know of other implements with which a hydraulic top link would be handy?

I'd really like one for the rear 3pt forks I have on the iMatch. Threading the forks into a pallet that isn't flat would be so much easier with the top link. Adding the tilt cyl. would also be a plus with the rear forks. Just need to gitRdun.

But the top link along with the iMatch hitch would be the nuts for about every 3pt application.

I use mine all the time with my box scraper, landscape rake, carryall, standard blade, and snowblower. All for basically the same reason, angle of attack.
