Having trouble with my hydraulic toplink... On a newer heavy gannon, I can not get the cylinder to stay in place. Once pressure is applied it is like it's floating. Cylinder holds in place when just raising and lowering but moves when working?
Am i missing something here???

Is there air in the cylinder? Have you extended and retracted the cylinder all the way out and back in several times? If there is air in the lines or cylinder it can float.

Otherwise your valve may be set wrong. Not sure how your tractor is, but some remote valves can be changed over.

I had the same problem when I was using a hydraulic top link without a check valve.
When using a boxblade. As the blade started to dig in my top link would compress and the boxblade would dive.
I replaced it with a top link that has a check valve and the problem went away. The check valve top link cylinder stays were you put it under load.

Are we speaking of a check valve that can be installed between the hose and cylinder or does the cylinder need an internal check valve?
If on the hose does it matter which hose?
