So far thumbling around in the manual I haven't found its location. I'd mentioned to a fellow tractor driver that my backhoe wasn't digging very well. He said check the hydraulic system filter. In the manual under trouble shooting it mentioned the transmission oil filter. His tractor is a good bit bigger then Kioti. I was under the impression that the transmission oil and hydraulic system shared the same source. Can any one shed some info on my ignorance?

I have 2 hydraulic filters in my MF sub compact. The one is a cartridge type filter that can be seen on the forward part of the trans, if there was a mower deck it would be over it. The second filter is not so obvious. It looks like a big metal mesh test tube. You have to remove the left rear tire to easily get to it. The filter is actually inside the hydro fluid reservoir and the bolt that the main hydro supply line is attached to is the filter access. I removed mine and cleaned it carefully with carb cleaner. I don't expect you will have 100% match, but I hope it's a good starting point.

Yes, I'm sure your Kioti is like my Kubota - the transmission fluid is also the hydraulic oil. They are one and the same. My tractor has two hydraulic/transmission oil filters. One right next to the other - on the passenger side of the tractor about half way down the frame. Each filter is the same size as the average car engine oil filter.

In your OP manual look for the section - changing the transmission fluid & filter(s).

If you are still pulling a big ZERO - stop in to your MF dealer and have them enlighten you.

As you can see by BrotherDan's post - not all tractors are exactly the same.

I believe Michigan Iron and Equipment has an online parts book for Kioti. Possibly look there.

On my Bobcat (hydro-static) I have two filters. One for the trans and a second one on the loader/3pt hydraulics.

The quality was excellent. Unfortunately there was a change at some point in the design of the engine stop solenoid and their manual did not have the version I needed..

Nevertheless, the illustrations were crisp and clear not muddy ones which look like photocopied ones.

Just go out and run over a whole bunch of brush and debris and pretty soon you'll be able to find where the filter is by following the trail of fluid up to the tractor! I actually managed to pop off the large return line on my B7800 out in the middle of the brush: downfall of HST is that when you loose your hydraulic fluid you also loose locomotion!

Filters are going to be somewhere from under the operator station back to just before the rear differential. The two filters on my NX5510 are under the operator station. Ones on my B7800 are back closer to the rear wheels/differential.

Look up the parts and you should get an idea how big the filters are: usually they should be big enough that you really can't miss spotting them if you look around on the tractor.

The two filters on my CK27 are under the seat (1) and under the floor pan in front of the rear diff. Both are on the right side of the tractor assuming you are seated and facing front.

Dave, I cannot thank you enough for that manual. It is way better quality than anything I have here including the original owners manual.
