Had to use the backhoe today , so i get close the subframe plus the hoses , put selector on A ....it when back by itself to N .....tried again, it did same thing again......... tried to push the lever to B .......went back to neutral ...

So i used a rubber band to get it to stay to A , so i coulf use the backhoe, i worked fine, i completed my 5 hours job!!!!
Even after the job, it still does get back to N by itself .......
anyone has ever seen this ?
What could be the problem ....
it'a 2008 still under the 4 years warranty.......i just don't feel like trailering it to the dealer if it is something i could fix myself ...

Thanks

P.S : please forgive my poor english.... french is my first language ;)

It sounds like someone took out the detents to hold the lever in position unless it has worked before. These pictures are from a Bobcat manual but are the same. I hope they help you figure the problem.

Kudos to Bobcat for re-writing this section; Kioti did not have as much
info on the detents. (Did you buy the whole CT230 manual, Victor?)

It is very interesting that Bobcat says to return the lever to N before
stopping the tractor (I do not), and that starting the tractor will be
difficult if the lever is in detent. If the lever is in detent with no
implement (backhoe) attached, you will be in relief immediately and that
makes sense, but it is not a problem with the hoe attached.

I do notice that with cold fluid at start-up (45F), the idle will be slightly
faster if the AUX is in neutral, due to the work of pushing cold fluid thru
the small passages in the valve, but when warm, no idle reduction is
detectable. This method of powering the hoe is not as good at a power-
beyond loop due to this slight resistance.

To the OP: others have experienced failure of the detents due to
moisture, dirt, and inadequate grease.

I don't have the Bobcat manual. Already had the Kioti manual. Those detent instructions are from one of member's posts in the Bobcat forum. I look at their posts being that we have the same tractors other than a few small tweeks and attachments. Brand name and color doesn't matter to me. As long as we can help each other is the important part.
