I just finished up putting remote hydraulics, front and rear, on a Kubota B7200. Fitting a front snowblower , and needing a lift spurred me on.
I had a few AG Safeway couplers on hand, both male and female, and both single action sleeve and dual action (one-handers) (What are they? S20 and S40 or something like that?)
I had not noticed that some of both genders were ball sealed, others were poppet sealed. I have both!
Then I ordered another round of hardware to complete the project. I just selected from the "AG coupler" selection from the on line catalog, figuring AG was Ag these days. All came in ball sealed.
When I finally got all the hard lines in, and the rubber lines fitted, The "lift cylinder" would extend , (lifting the TRACTOR! Not the blower ;-)
I thought I must have miss plumbed something at the loader valve or at the tractor diverter valve. I thought I would blow the pump for sure! Pumping fluid with open ports showed my handi-work was in order, but,,, still no lift.
Then I noticed that the cylinder retract quick couplers were both ball sealed, while the extend coupler was a Female poppet and a ball sealed male.
I went back to my "fittings and all stuff hydraulic box" and grabbed a poppet style female connector and fitted that at the end of the hard line.
It all works perfectly!
So Question:
Are the ball sealed devices NOT intended to work with other ball sealed halves? Right now, It seems that way to me. I hope not! I have four more pairs in my "box", and don't want to call them incompatible.
Or it is something to do with those particular pieces "just not playing well together".
All couplers are nominal 3/8ths.
