I would like to put a remote hydraulic on my YM1401D (rear blade, log splitter, top link...). I know someday I will be putting on a loader, so I will have to cut the pressure side of the hydraulic line then anyway. I know I must cut a piece out of the line and put on compression fittings. Where can I buy these fittingsand what size is needed? Does anyone have a picture or description of where to cut and how much to cut out? I also know to buy an open center control value. Will a "log splitter valve" from TCS work? Thanks for any input you have.

I also have a 1401d and am in the process of doing the same thing. One thing I've thought of as being a problem is that the three point cylinder valve is open except when being lifted which means that you won't get needed pressure at the rear hydraulics unless you mount the open center valve permanantly to the back of the tractor and then have another operating valve for your device then back to the pressure line to provide pressure for your 3 pt. What I've decided to do is put a selector valve up by where your right foot would be then to a coupler at the back end of the tractor. Another coupler for the return line would tap in th the high pressure line downstream from the selector valve. One worry is that if you select the rear line and have nothing hooked up to it this might cause failure of the pump. Another concern is that the fluid resivoir in the tranny might not be enough to fill the large splitter cylinder. I am using my bobcat with my splitter now but will sell it when I get my 1401d modified. Let me know if you come up with any other concerns.

I forgot to say that the fittings are 12 mm. I got mine at a local hydraulic shop. I'm sure that Hoye could help you out too.

I'm not following what you are doing , but you are making it harder than it really is. The simplest way to add hydraulics is to cut the pressure line (small line from the hydraulic pump). Braze on fittings or compression fittings can be used to fasten the hoses to. Run the pump line to the IN on the valve. Run the OUT to the line to the 3 point on a 2 hose system. On a 3 hose Power Beyond valve run OUT to the transmission housing & the PBY to the line to the 3 point. The best system is to use the PBY system. This puts the remote valve in series with the 3 point.
