Hi,

I just rebuilt my hydraulic pump with new piston rings and gaskets and i wondered if i should check the pressure of the hydraulic system now the seals will all be pumping more efficiently. I can't see in my service manual the pressure it should be at and can anyone recommend the best place to put the manometer? I would like to leave one on there permanently. There is a likely looking bolt on the top cover under the seat on the left hand side next to the air breather.

Finally where can i source an external hydraulics feed tube for a reasonable price? On ebay they are asking 」60 for a small length of tube with two nuts on either end! Can i use a flexible hose?

Thanks

I looked at the parts breakdown and as you mentioned the plug on the small cover looks like you could hook a gage or on the right hand side of the lift cover there is a plug looks like a possible spot. I seem to remember that a 135 pressure is about 2350 PSI, yours should be somewhere near that. You might post the question about the feed tube in the Hydraulics section of the forum. Someone may have a better source internationally that could help you. There are others on the forum that could confirm a good place for a pressure gage. Hopefully they will see this and add their knowledge.

G'day oilystairs.
You can install a pressure gauge in one of three places ,Horizontally on either side of the lift cover remove the Allen /hex plug either one 3/8 " NPT or the plug on the top left front of the cover ,the one that has two FLATS ,it has a 3/8 " BSPP British Standard Pipe Parallel thread and sealed with a Dowty Washer, generally it is easier to find a gauge with a 3/8 " NPT male fitting that will screw straight in ,Use Thread tape.

The part number for the MF 65 Relief valve is 828927M92 Set at 2300 --2800 PSI MAX.Caution Make sure you have the correct Relief valve if you were to install the relief valve from a 135 etc You will possibly crack the lift cover, also when testing raise the linkage slowly and allow the pressure to increase slowly I see no point in Shock loading the hydraulic system besides the tractor is not new and it is always a good idea to be kind to OLD THINGS.

If you test with the side plate removed ,the one with the dipstick ,don't be tempted to put your hand inside when the relief valve has lifted there is a real risk of oil being injected into your hand,be careful.
Happy days.
Hutch.
