Hydraulic oil sit gauge replacement

I have an Allmand 325 tbl (2003) and cannot see the hydraulic fluid level. I purchased the Donaldson replacement plastic and noted that the nuts on the back side are not welded in place with no way to get to them. Does any one have experience in changing this site glass?
