I noticed the other day when i went to walk the excavator across my property and it left a trail of oil behind me. So i took the bellypan off and I cant tell much but it is leaking out fast is their a seal or gasket that could be busted?

You could have a leak from just about anywhere, from fittings to hose, pump, hyd motor, etc.

Get it off the ground clean everything, and then run it for a while looking for the leak. Wear eye protection.

NAPA makes a leak detector that you add to the hyd fluid and it will mix in and flow out the leak point. When you shine a black light on everything, the leak should show a greenish yellow.

Do this in a dark area and you should be able to see the leak. If you find the leak, fix it, and clean everything again and wait for the next leak, using the black light often.

Amazon also has the dye.

Have a 341 Bobcat excavator and the rod just broke in the arm hydraulic ram, when I fully extended the arm during erxcavation. Trying to figure out whether this is equipment or operator failure. Anybody have similar experience??
