Need some help from the experts on this forum! I had a small hydraulic leak on my FarmPro 2420 and planned on fixing it as soon as I finished mowing the grass today. I pull a PTO-driven set of gang mowers and I noticed the 3 PT
arms were hanging a little low. So I pulled the lever to raise them and I must have raised them too high because all of a sudden; hydraulic fluid came blowing out of the same fitting (I think it's the same!) that had a very slow drip before this happened. I am attaching a picture of the "junction box" where the fitting leaks. Sorry but I don't know the proper terminology for this area.

There are 3 lines coming into this "junction" and naturally it's the one in the back that's leaking. My question is: Are those black rings shown in the photo O-rings or some kind of gasket? Before I start taking it apart; I want to have the necessary parts ready to put it back together. I plan on replacing the hydraulic fluid while I am at it since it's ready for a fresh fill.
Thanks for your assistance.....this forum has been a lifesaver!

Those appear to be rubber covered washers. I have seen them in copper and aluminum. the ones with the rubber on the outside don't work well because when you tighten teh banjo bolt, you tear the rubber sealing surface. We have some we have sourced stateside that are metal with rubber only on the inside. they are a little more expensive but seem to work well. got them from hoses&fittings.com

Thanks Bluechip! I thought it was something like that. I will try to locate some and fix the problem. The 3pt seems to still work fine so I don't think I hurt anything and it's time for a fluid change also. Thanks again for your help....it is appreciated!!

I believe the common term for those things is "bonded washers." McMaster-Carr, MSC Industrial Supply or other industrial supply house will have them. Yes, the ones with the rubber inside the hole work much better than the completely covered ones.

I am used to seeing copper associated with banjo fittings... That is the diverter valve assembly and I have had mine apart, but don't recall what it had for sealing washers on it...

My local Auto Zone actually has them. They are with the replacement drain plugs and they come in a little package like you get screws, ect in.

When you change the fluid do not forget to change the filter or clean the screen, whatever you have. Also use AW32 hydraulic oil.

I spoke with a friend of mine who works as a mechanic for the city vehicles and knows a lot about hydraulics and diesels and he said (without seeing it) the washers are normally copper and rubber (or some other sealing material). I am going to try to get one off and take it with me to a local New Holland tractor dealer and see if their parts guy can steer me in the right direction. They also handle Kubota so should have an assortment of metrics too. I have to be careful because if I mention it's for a "Chinese" tractor; they usually turn up their nose and say "We can't help you on that".

Chris, I just noticed your post and will try my local AutoZone as you suggested.
I do have AW32 hydraulic oil to refill it with but I don't think this tractor has a filter so I assume I need to clean the screen which is located under the seat??

Thanks to all for the quick responses!!

Yes, you probably have a screen under the seat. Remove the seat and the hard pipe that goes to the 90 deg fitting on the 3 bolt flange. Remove the flange and the screen will be there.

Also, if you can not find the rubber coated washers get some brass crush washer or aluminum if thats all they have used in many oil drain plug applications. They should work fine.
