when plumbing up my new hydraulic valve, how much slack should I allow for expansion?
I am going from FEL valve to an electric solenoid 3rd function valve .I was thinking about 4 inches may be enough.
Also will someone give me a wiring diagram on how they wired up a 3rd function solenoid
valve showing from the 12volt source , to the joystick and back to the solenoids .I am thinking a 2 button Joystick
Thank you

We need more information to intelligently answer this question.
- about how long is the hose?
- do both ends stay in the same relation to each other, or does one move?
- what size hose, what type/pressure?

In general hoses get shorter when they are pressurized. High pressure hoses will not contract as much as low pressure hoses because the steel braids minimize hose expansion, which is what causes the shortening. It's the same idea as a Chinese finger trap in reverse.
