I have problem with my hydraulic (3pts hitch is jerky and the front blade is slow with no power). The tractor is a kubota L1-18 (grey market).
It happen at first, a fluid leak at the front blade when working (connection problem). I loosed little bit oil so I stopped and put little bit more oil.
After a while, the front blade started to work slower until it stopped to work.
I decided to replace the oil as I was thinking I loosed to much oil at the first leaking problem.
After to put the new oil, the front blade and the 3pt hitch was working as the same (slow and jerky). At slow pace, they didn't work.
I tried to work for a few minutes (about 15mn) and the engine started to loose power. So I stopped again and I saw, engine oil was coming out from a tube (can't explain what it is in english, but it's used when it have to much oil in the oil pan, I suppose). I tried to take of the oil gauge and motor oil came out to.
So I decided to check the hydraulic level and almost all the oil was gone.

What happen? I suppose it's the hydraulic pump (seal), isn't it? I put a picture of a similar hydraulic pump. In red, the seal that I believe is the problem.
What do you think? Can I have a problem with the engine as hydraulic mixed with motor oil when the engine was running?
The tractor didn't stop to run. I stopped it and I started it with any rpoblem. It didn't run hot to.
Thank you for help.

Everything is ok now. It was exactly this hydraulic seal. Now, all is great. It was little bit tricky (not so much accessibility for some screw) but the job is done. Maybe it can help someone with the same problem.

Nice work diagnosing and fixing the problem.
Thanks for posting the solution.

Your engine is probably OK. You did change the motor oil after the hydraulic pump repair right?

This is sometimes caused by "dead heading" the hydraulic pump. Basically overpressurizing the system. It is also sometimes caused by a bent/flawed pump shaft prematurely wearing out the seal.

I did change everything. Hydraulic oil, motor oil, hydraulic oil filter and motor oil filter. I don't think the hydraulic oil filter had to be changed because of the problem but it appear the dealer didn't changed it (old model from Japan) but painted it same as the all engine.
I don't know why it happen but I figured: The seal joint was old and the tractor was imported from Japan. Before to be sold, it taked a while and the joint was maybe sealed with the pump shaft because of no use and ...
I'm not mechanic man but it was great to have to do it by myself. I learn alot these few days.
Thank you for the help.

fred28...
For not being a mechanic I'd say you did better than most. Good job.
I would guess that pipe the oil came from was the crank case breather tube. KennyV
