Hello;

Some time ago one of you fine fellows directed me to a used Power Trac Tree Shear.

I bought it and it will be shipped early next week. The owner says he used it very little on a PT 425???

I'm thinking that when I get it I should flush out the cylinders and hoses to avoid contaminating the fluid in our brand new 3320.

But then again, maybe not. The fluid in the hoses and cylinders will not be circulllating in our system. It will just be pushing whatever is prresently in the hoses. Right?????

What say you?

Thanks, nicholas

If you just plug it in to your system, the fluids will mix.

If the tree shear was used in a Power-Trac, there will be motor oil 10W-40 in the cyl.

Although it probably will not hurt anything, you could still drain the cyl and hose and connect it to your hyd system and cycle the cyl about 6 times to expel any air.

i'd plow it out.

remember.. air pressure will be good to move them cyls...
