Hydraulic fill cap

Has anyone come up with a replacement for the red plastic hydraulic fill cap? Mine is on a DK40SE. I noticed it allows dirt and junk to come in through the vent hole.

Put a sock over it? Or a piece of hosiery? Or a cigarette filter with a slightly enlarged hole? Or...

This is typically for a DKse tractors backhoe attachments. This allows return oil to return down the fill tube via an added quick disconnect. The original remote valve return proved too restrictive during prolonged use, which caused overheating. But also notice the new vent that is added (because the female quick disconnect will take place of the old vent). This bolt hole leads to the transmission case, so part 31351-37142, BT664-83000, and BT664-82000 are added to create the new vent.

If this S-type of vent seems better to you than the original fill vent, it would be a pretty cheap to order just those parts, and then plug the hole in the fill cap.
