I have a Branson 2810 with 420hrs on it bucket got jerky for 10 sec on light load hydraulic lost pressure.

I've checked the screen replaced the filter ( cut open it's case and inspected it to be clean ) fluid looks brand new etc. No grinding sounds just no pressure to the 3pnt and loader.

The Branson dealer is 2hrs away and said it sounds like the Hydraulic drive gear.

Question: Have any of you all opened that Hydraulic drive cover on the motor front? I'm thinking of trying to tackle the fix my self.

Thanks in advance,

Its been several years but from what I remember the whole front cover ends up coming off. The worst part about is getting the governor springs unhooked and hooked back up to the front cover on the right side. Better have a good selection of needle nose pliers. Otherwise, its pretty straight forward. Is the steering still working? Both pumps are driven by the same drive gear.

My steering does still work very well. This is great info that the same gear drives the hydro and steering. Glad I didn't crack the cover yet. I've been working a ton of overtime so the tractor is sitting at show waiting in line for diagnostics.

Why not pull the pump 1st before pulling the front of the tractor cover?

The deal said it was probably the gear so was going to work front back. I assumed pulling the cover was easier than the pump, is this incorrect?

My guess is I wouldn't thank so, if the pump is on the out side. 2 to 4 bolts and lines then should just come off. Now if it was in the trans housing that is another ball game. After you get it off should be able to see the gear or coupler and you can check the pump shaft to make sure it's not broken. Now I'm only guessing and might be all wet because I don't know much about your tractor.

Pump is off turns out the spline stripped on the pump drive gear. Pump doesn't look that great either ordering a new pump and drive gear. I'm surprised this would happen at 420hrs of light use. Everything else tight with no signs of wear on the tractor :(

What do you mean by "pump doesn't look that great either"? Does it look like the side plates and gear teeth have been sand blasted? Are the wear plates scored, etc..

Gear teeth are worm enough I wouldn't want to mate them up with a new drive. The shaft going into the pump housing has rust. I haven't torn into the pump.
