Anyone have any information on changing out a hydraulic control valve spool handle to a foot operated handle? I've been trying to find some information on putting the handle on the floor so I can control my grapple with my left foot. Any information would be much appreciated and thank you.

Most SCVs are mounted on the right side, so you'd need to run a cable or move the valve. On my 4400, JD actually uses a cable to control the 3rd SCV via a handle on the right fender. I'd think the cable is long enough to reach the left floor board, but you'd have to build or buy a foot pedal.

Another option is an electronic SCV or diverter valve controlled via thumb switch on the loader handle.

Thank you Texas.

Could I buy a single electronic SCV, and a dual handled SCV? Install them in line with one another? These dual and triple electronic SCVs are crazy expensive.

I also have a cab so it's gonna be tight I imagine.

What is your current setup? From your first post I took it to mean you already have a loader valve and a grapple installed, but looking to change the valve controlling the grapple.

I am sorry about that. I don't have anything installed yet, and I don't have a rear remote installed yet. I stopped today and ordered the parts to begin installing it (plug and 90* fittings). Next I'll have to pick up the lines and control valve(s).

Slightly confused still. Does your 955 have a tractor mounted loader valve already installed? The stock location is under the seat on the right side of the transmission. From there it would supply the 3 point hitch via the power beyond port. That is where you would tap in for a 3rd SCV.

Or it's possible to install a diverter valve on your loader to enable switching between bucket curl and grapple without installing a 3rd SCV. I've never done it that way but there are kits out there for doing that, probably not cheap though. Most people opt for the 3rd SCV so it can be used on 3 point hitch attachments, such as a power angle blade.

Holy crap. Please explain in more detail how I add this. I do have the loader valve installed already.

What's the easiest way to tap into and get a 3rd SCV from the power beyond kit?

I'm sorry man, this stuff is not easy to figure out.

Calm down. Just trying to establish where you are starting from. If you only want to run the grapple then a diverter valve kit is simple and easy. First Google hit:
Hydraulic Diverter Valve Kit - ANBO Manufacturing

Adding a third SCV is tougher especially with a cab. Your existing loader valve should have a power beyond port that is supplying your three point hitch. You would intercept the oil supply there and use it to feed your new valve, either electronic or manual. The power beyond from that valve would feed your three point hitch and the third port returns to reservoir (transmission).

Edit: I just saw this is your second thread on the same topic. Are you wanting different answers this time?

No. As of this afternoon I was going to add a rear remote and control valve. I even stopped in st Deere and bought the 90* angles and plug for the axle. Then I called Greens Machine to order the Thumb and they told me about an electronic diverted valve for $160. I thought awesome, I'll just do that because it seems easier.

Then I get some information from you, who seems to know much more about this stuff than I do, about how I might already have the ports on my dang tractor joystick valve, now I'm Laughing out loud. So before typing these last two replies, I spent about $650 on the Thumb, diverter control valve and push button switch.

I just jumped in because I need this thumb installed and working for a big project starting on June 30th.
