Hi.

Just installed the BX2750C snowblower on my BX24 yesterday.

After figuring out that the person who assembled the BX2731 Subframe/Quick Hitch/PTO Drive set the drive shaft up incorrectly, the rest of the install went smoothly.

I do have one question though... the hydraulic lines for the piston which raises and lowers the quick hitch are not marked with a color coded ring cap. The tech at my dealer told me to connect them to the Blue and Red valves on the loader manifold. I did what he suggested and the system works. However, the Blue/Red valves control bucket angle on the loader (i.e....left/right movement on control stick). Shouldn't the quick hitch cylinder be connected to the valves that control the loader boom (i.e...front/back on the control stick)...if anything, to be consistent with the operation of the stick.

Does it matter?

Thanks in advance for reading.

It doesn't "matter", BUT, it will be a lot easier if the up/down of the joystick moves the blower up/down. Just move the hoses to the other QD's. I can't help with the color's as mine are different...
The left/right on the joystick should be for your chute rotation.

Yes, you want to switch your connections as kennyd suggested or you could not use the float feature, which would be a big turn off for me. Stan

kennyd and ndnparts...

thanks for the input...especially regarding being able to float the blower...which WILL be important...

I would have probably figured that out eventually, but it would have been in the most inopportune moment I'm sure! (like 20F and and blowing snow).

Another Q regarding Subframe/Quick hitch...

What is the best way to support the hoses going to the cylinder? As far as I can tell...nothing is supplied to support the hoses.

Jeff, as mentioned, you will want the blower going up when you pull back on the stick, go down when you push forward. That will allow you to give the stick a little shove to get it into the float position (lever will stay forward in float). On my hydraulic lines, i just used a couple zip ties to keep them out of trouble.... i have no specific bracket to hold onto the lines.

Thanks for the info. Between now and when I posted the original, I cable tied the two hydraulic hoses so the stay away from the right front tire.

Thanks!

I have the lower most hose on the Quickhitch cylinder connected to the lowermost adapter on the joystick on my BX2230 and the upper most on the Quickhitch cylinder connected to the uppermost adapter on the stick. This is the perfect configuration. It allows an upward movement on the stick to lower the implement where one would then follow through to allow the implement to "Float". Subsequently, pulling the stick down, raises the implement.

Happy snowblowing!:D :D :D
