Hi all, now that we've rolled the "new-to-us" Zetor 6441 up to the ranch, I'm ready to pull the trigger on a hydraulic auger system to attach to the loader bucket.

I've been looking primarily at the Belltec NC series and the Danuser 8900 series. We're running 14GPM on the tractor hydraulics.

A key item that we must have is an auger rock bit. Anyone who has been in the Texas Hill Country knows that you pretty much blow off the first few inches of dust and you're on rock. :D

In looking at the Danuser auger bits, I don't see a rock bit version like Belltec offers. But perhaps third party rock bit augers can be used with the Danuser 8900.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

There is an industry std used by the major auger mfg's. The three sizes used are 2" rd, 2 9/16 rd, and the 2 9/16 (I think) hex. There are adaptors to go back and forth from any of these styles to make the others work. The Danuser hyd I think is the large round style.

Check out the Danuser 8900 auger drive for tractors on our website. The model for 10-20 gpm has a 2 9/16" output shaft. You can use a McMillen rock ripper auger on that but you'll need a 2 9/16" round to 2" hex adapter. An alternative to that would be the Pengo aggressor auger with a bolt on rock header. Those are available with a 2 9/16" shaft and that set-up will give you the ability to use the rock head in solid rock and the regular head in dirt. If you decide on the Danuser auger drive, send us a PM or give Travis a call for a TBN discount for Danuser auger drives. Our products ship free within 1,000 miles of Newton, NC to a commercial business or supporting freight terminal. You're right outside our zone but I ran a quote and can still offer you free shipping. I hope this helps.

If you are considering the Belltec NC10, you should be looking at the Danuser EP10, which is comparably priced. It has a 2" hex output, which will work with Danuser's bullet tooth rock bit or others (Mcmillen, Belltec, Pengo) without an adapter. I just bought a Danuser EP6 from Everything Attachments, along with the Pengo aggressor auger Ted mentioned above. I was very pleased with the ordering experience and the price I got on the auger drive. I also ordered an offset skid steer quick attach auger cradle, which I will use instead of bolting on to the side of the bucket. If your tractor loader is equipped with skid steer quick attach, you may want to consider the offset skid steer mount. It is shown on Danuser's website: Model EP10 | Danuser
I haven't tried the auger yet. Still need to order hydraulic fittings, hoses, solenoid valve, and joystick-mount switch.
