I want to add top and tilt to my Case 70. My question is that if i run a set of lines from my loader valves to the tilt cylinder when i disconnect the lines to use my loader will the tilt cylinder hold the position it is in. Just wondering if anyone has tried any thing like this. I only have one rear remote.

If you get a cylinder with pilot operated checks it will hold position for a quite a while. But having to manually move the lines really defeats the purpose. If you cannot add another remote, you should probably only get a cylinder for one of the functions either the top link or the tilt, whichever you need to adjust the most, and leave the other manual.

You could also add a selector valve to your one rear remote to allow you to switch it between two different functions. Again, it would be best if you had pilot operated checks on both circuits. You would need a double selector valve such as this one:

Put a diverter on your one remote, you do not want to be continually hooking and unhooking the hoses. Either a manual or electric unit will work, they aren't that much money, but I would forget about changing the hoses back and forth altogether.

And yes the hydraulic would hold it's position if you were to disconnect the hoses. There is no where for the fluid to go if disconnected. the control valves are usually the culprit for hydraulic cylinder leak down.

Good luck with your decisions. ;)
